Ask Yourself - What would you do it you weren’t afraid?

March 8th, 2009 · 10 Comments

I REALLY LOVE my iPhone.

And because of it, I’m really getting into Podcasting (I no longer have to wait until I’m at a computer to get my pods).

Recently I’ve been listening to a really cool podcast called ‘Introducing The New Man (I hate that phrase, too) - Beyond the Macho Jerk’. (Editor’s Note - Ladies, keep reading as there’s something in here for all of us - women included.)

The Podcasts are hosted by Trip Meniere (sorry for typos) and there are a couple of things that I’ve found really useful and will cover briefly in my next couple of posts.

The first one was a simple but smart way of taking on your life rather than simply letting life do whatever it does to us. One of Trip’s guests said that he always likes to ask himself the following question every once in a while as a sort of sanity check.

Simply ask yourself:

“What would I do if I weren’t afraid (of anything)”

(Another way to put it might be ‘What would you do if you could do anything?’

Sounds quite simple, but if you ask yourself this question and honestly give yourself an answer, this will tell you where you should be putting your focus if you truly want to lead the life that you want.

Don’t let tomorrow get in the way of your future. I’m not saying give up the mortgage or the relationship that isn’t working. But what I am saying is we all rally need to start focusing on what we REALLY want and start planning for those things to happen.

If you don’t even acknowledge what you want, it’s pretty unlikely that you’ll ever get it.

And if not in this life, which life are you waiting for?

Drop me a comment and let me know what you would do if you weren’t afraid of anything and I’ll tell you how to get it. And watch out for more real soon.

A lesson in the Law of Attraction in action – yet another vision board success!

January 23rd, 2009 · 7 Comments

This is a short example highlighting how the law of attraction works (clue – it’s not by magic!)

I had photos of a glorious 6-pack on my vision board. In fact, 3 of them. Now at 45 years of age, you might think I was being a wee bit optimistic? (…Optimist is one of my middle names :-O)

Unperturbed I did as I suggest in Law of Attraction in 30 Minutes and look at my vision board at least once a day and spend a few minutes feeling the things on my vision board, imagining as if I already have them.

18 months ago, whilst seeking a solution to my long-term back problems, Carol, my chiropractor suggested a food intolerance test. My food intolerance tester, Suzanne suggested I follow Patrick Holford’s low GL diet.

Essentially this involves eating 50% of vegetables per meal, 25% carbohydrates and 25% protein. It also entails eating something every 2-3 hours. I started this and have stuck with it. (Tip: Try it for yourself if you want to lose some weight).

Now fast forward 18 months and I have not only lost nearly 3 stone of weight (38 pounds). Given that I was not massively overweight or obese before, this has made a world of difference to shape. And I’ve got my 6-pack back!

Now I’ve not recited this to show off (though I am pleased and have worked for it). I’ve cited this to make a very important point.

Although I had chiselled abs on my vision board, I did not start the GL diet to get the abs. By that stage, I had forgotten about the abs on my board. But, (and this is the point I want to make), I TOOK ACTION. Inspired action.

By following each ‘lead’, and every new action, the law of attraction put me in touch with the things I needed to get what I desired – what I had on my vision board.

This is what I mean when I say ‘take action’. You don’t have to force things and try really hard to achieve the things on your vision board, but you do need to follow the little clues that pop up along the way. The little thought that pops into your head.

These are the little ways the law of attraction is reaching out trying to help you to help yourself.

So follow the clues, even if they don’t look as if they’re leading anywhere in particular.

…..They are.

Personal Boundaries and the Law of Attraction

December 24th, 2008 · No Comments

In my last post I talked about how Dr Paul’s concept of Observing Ego can help us with the Law of Attraction. Today I’m going to talk briefly about how his concept of Personal Boundaries can also help you get what you want quicker.

Your Personal Boundary is the self-defined space that each of us has around ourself. It is not visible, but it is literally the psychological border that surrounds us. Dr Paul asserts that most of us simply allow any and everyone through and then tend to moan when people attack us from within our own Personal Boundary. I agree with him on this point.

So how does this help with the Law of Attraction? Again, to get what we want using the LOA, we need to focus on feeling grateful for the things that we want to get in life. Then we need to preserve that feeling, that vibration, often in spite of people who may pull us in other directions.

Once you are aware of this Personal Boundary and the ‘doors’ you need to operate to allow others in through your border (or keep them out if necessary). You can then protect yourself from outside influences that can push back your progress towards what you want.

As an example, perhaps you have aneighbour who is quite negative by nature (albeit in a friendly way) and you have found in the past that no matter how positive you feel after working on yourself and your vibration, they always seem to pop round and bring you down somewhat.

Once you accept Dr Paul’s concept of Personal Boundaries, you take ownership of this boundary and add revolving doors to it to simply spin that negative person back out BEFORE they can do any damage to your positivity/gratitiude.

And if you use that with Observing Ego (discussed in my last post), you will be able to better spot these people in advance and send them on their way in real-time.

So there you have two new concepts/tools for you to experiement with to help you live the life you really want.

Do let me have your comments on Personal Boundaries and Observing Ego. And a Happy Holiday to you and yours!

Personal Boundaries and more ‘tools’ for you!

December 22nd, 2008 · 1 Comment

Bookaholic that I am, I’ve already lined up a number of books for my Christmas break (in between playing with my son on his new Xbox 360 – ssshh, don’t tell him ;-o). I’m reading a series of books by Paul Dobranski (aka Dr Paul). He seems to write mainly for men ‘in a changing world’, but I see lessons in his writings for men and women.

He’s touched on a couple of things that I think are useful to those of you using the Law of Attraction to get what you want (or simply trying to get what you really want from life). Observing Ego and Personal Boundaries.

I’ll probably cover these in more detail in future posts, but in brief, Observing Ego is considering your actions as you are in the midst of doing things and then adjusting what you do in real-time. This is particularly when you’re in the heat of the moment and can prevent you from looking back on a situation and thinking ‘why didn’t I stop myself from doing that?’

Your Personal Boundary is literally the border around us that helps define who we are. We own this and we define what it is. Likewise, Dr Paul asserts that we ought to control this ‘border’ as a country protects its own frontiers. Rather than simply allowing every Tom, Dick & Harry in because they want to invade our territory.

Most importantly, he advises that we should aim to have ‘doors’ in our boundary, rather than an open border or, as some people have, walls that keep everything out. So what does this have to do with the Law of Attraction, you ask? Quite a lot actually.

I have found Observing Ego particularly useful in helping me to keep my rate of vibration high and helping me to stay on the path to getting what I want in life.

How? In Law of Attraction in 30 Minutes I talk at length about building your vibration by feeling grateful for the things that you want to attract and then preserving those vibrations (often in spite of other people’s efforts and negativity).

My post on my WordPress problems is a good example where I was able to use Observing Ego to prevent myself from sliding down to a negative person’s level.

So if you can practice using Observing Ego in real-time (and it may take a bit of time at first), you can protect your rate of vibration and get what you want sooner than if you allow others to drag you into their negative thinking.

How can Personal Boundaries help you with the Law of Attraction?

I’ll cover that in my next post (those who’ve been with me long enough will remember that my New Year’s Resolution was to keep my blog posts short ;-O).

Till the next post,

Do you really feel grateful?

December 12th, 2008 · No Comments

I do!

Sitting here, typing this on a cold, but beautifully wintry day. Blue skyline reaching out over London. In my self-assigned lunch hour, I am feeling happy. Very happy.

Not that everything’s going my way. Quite the opposite, but….

On days like this, even though I certainly have problems (like everyone else), I don’t have any problem putting myself in a grateful state of mind ;-0) I just look out the window and marvel at the clear blue sky.

At the moment

December 9th, 2008 · No Comments

This one’s a great phrase to use as often as you wish. What does it do?

It helps remove the negative tail endings from our everyday thoughts and words. Thus changing how we feel about our ‘lot in life’ and consequently changing what we receive.

So for example, you don’t have the car that you want (I like talking about attracting cars, don’t I? ;-D) and you keep focusing on that lack (especially when you see the old car you currently have).

Instead of thinking “I don’t have a Ferrari”, or “I’ve only got this old jalopy”, simply insert ‘At the moment’ before the phrase and you’ve already distanced yourself from your ‘lack’ of the thing you desire.

Eg. “At the moment, I don’t have a Ferrari”, or “At the moment, I still have this (old jalopy)”

Ed’s note, I would change the ‘old jalopy’ description to something more supportive and I would also take some time to focus on the positive aspects of your current car (I’m sure that there are some if you look hard enough – ie. it’s better than not having a car, or your current car’s delivered you to some places in one piece!)

Now using ‘At the moment’ might not sound like it will make much of a difference, but believe me, in the grand scheme of things and over time, it’s the little things like this that all add up and help defeat the negative self-talk we simply have to eliminate (on a daily basis) if we are to truly get the things we desire in life.

Have a cool day,

Why so quiet? I’ve been having a Blast!

November 22nd, 2008 · No Comments

That’s right - blasting through my beliefs.

Those of you who’ve read my previous post about the amazing Chris Howard event I went to in October, (and those of you who’ve been to this FREE seminar before) will now that Chris gives away some absolutely free tools.

My favourite is the Decision Destroyer which blasts through limiting beliefs in just 10 minutes.

I’ve found it astonishingly powerful for me - literally transforming and removing age-old beliefs I’ve held. Beliefs that have been holding me back for years.

I sometimes spend any spare time I have firstly listing the limiting beliefs I want to be rid of and then blast them away 10-12 minutes per belief. Incredible stuff.

‘But what does this have to do with the Law of Attraction’, I hear you ask?

Simple. The Law of Attraction states that you get what you focus on. Everytime. If you have limiting beliefs deep in the background, as well as attracting the things that you want, you are also repelling them. Leaving you no closer tot he things that you want.

Look at it this way, everytime you blast through and remove a limiting belief, you are removing a brick in the wall that it keeping you from your deepest desires.

And when you remove a netagive, limiting belief, what’s left is a more positive belief in it’s place (this is part of the Decision Destroyer process).

I now see Chris Howard’s tools as pretty complementary to using the Law of Attraction. A means of accelerating what you can get with the Law of Attraction.

I love this stuff so much, I am definitely going to Chris’ next London event, next year - Breakthrough to Success.

You can sign up here for FREE: Chris Howard

If you do, I’ll see you there ;-o)

Oh, he’s also got a number of events in Australia and one in Ireland. I’m sure he has some in the US as that’s where he’s from, but you’ll need to contact his people to get dates for those.

…BLAST, BLAST, BLAST!

All change?

November 8th, 2008 · No Comments

I read somewhere (might have been on my favourite astrology website by Jonathan Cainer) and the underlining message was that there is a fundamental shift going on in the world right now. I’m not a huge astrology nut, so if you know the technical terms for any of this please post a comment with them.

As part of this, the theory goes that we are all becoming more aware of our environment, not just in an ecological sense, but also in a metaphysical sense. We are in effect raising our vibration level.

Perhaps the election of Barack Obama as the next President of the USA is a reflection of this? Certainly if he delivers the things he has promised and keeps talking in the same magnanimous way as he has done during the election, then I think he will change the superpower that is the USA.

Perhaps as we begin to rise from the disaster that is the global credit crunch, we will see a less material world. One less driven by profit-above-all, free market thinking, that (we now realise)has brought the world to it’s economic knees.

(Editor’s note: Don’t get me wrong, I am a firm believer in capitalism - particularly as it seems to be the only system that works. But left to its own devices, human nature and greed can take things too far if we don’t keep an eye on things).

I’ve said before that I do believe that as each of our individual level of consciousness increases, the collective consciousness of the world simply must too evolve to higher levels. And so on.

One thing we should not do, however, is throw the baby out with the bath water. That is, we shouldn’t get rid of the things that have worked so well for the world and helped us develop higher levels of sophistication, whereby we’re living on average 15 years longer than our grandparents.

So the message is - keep working on raising the level of your own vibration by using the Law of Attraction and any other method you know of. That in turn will raise the vibration levels of those around you, and so on. Recessions come and recessions go, just keep yourself int he best shape that you can and try to ignore the negativity that seems to be everywhere at the moment. Unfortunately, sensationalism sells.

And Congratulations to Barack Obama and Joe Biden. A lot of people are hoping for great things from you both. So long as we don’t get too carried away in our high expectations of you both, I really believe you’re going to deliver.

2 Good Reasons to live for Today!

October 22nd, 2008 · 4 Comments

I’ve been pretty out of sorts over the past week and a bit. One of my best friends died suddenly and at the young age of 32.

He had some addiction problems and relied on me “like an older brother” and I too had learnt to rely on him, sharing with him some of my own ‘personal’ problems.

Even now when I have the sort of problem I would normally share with him, I feel a deep twinge of sadness. I’m sighing alot these days. But in many ways, he is out of his suffering now and has moved on (I believe) to a better place.

I am sure he is truly at peace.

So why am I rambling about this? Well for one thing, it’s my way of saying goodbye to a dear friend. And two, it’s to remind you that life really is for living.

We honestly do NOT know what lies around the corner, for ourselves or for those around us.

Don’t hold back. Life really is too short.

Like they say ‘dance like no one’s watching’ ;-o)
