It doesn’t.

People focus on money.

As Lisa Minelli said “Money makes the world go around, the world go around…..” (you get the point).

In the hit movie, The Secret, a genie is used to represent the Law of Attraction. “Your wish is my command” he says.

Now if you were to ask people what their number one wish would be, if they could truly have anything, I’ll bet my bottom dollar (money again that they would firstly ask for something that costs money. A new home. A new car. A better job earning them more money….

That’s human nature in the 21st Century.

Some say there’s nothing wrong with that. I tend to agree.

Money is NOT the root of all evil. The love of money IS.

So it is what you do with money that is important. If you simply accumulate money for its own sake, using it to help no one but your bank manager, that doesn’t seem terribly positive does it?

If you use the money you generate to take your friends or family on holiday, or buy treats, that sounds like a good thing. Something that’s hard to fault.

Now the funny thing about human nature is that if you ask someone what they want the most, sure they’d start reeling off a list of material things. But I’m quite sure that pretty soon they would get to the less material things.

A better relationship with a member of their family. More satisfying workmates.

That’s human nature too. And that the cornerstone of The Science of Getting Rich, the book that inspired Rhonda Byrne to produce The Secret. You need money to be fre to do the things that really matter to you.
