This could prove to be one of my most popular posts. Why?
Because for a lot of well-intentioned and deserving people, they only come so close to the things that they desire.
But why is that if their doing all the right things?
I personally believe that it could be for a number of reasons. It could be on its way to them but via slow freight train, perhaps they just need to put more intensity into their desires, or occasionally they might need to take some intensity out of the equation and just step away.
Or the thing they desire just might not be right for them at this particular time.
So how can you establish which is the reason in your life?
When I’m not manifesting the things I want I firstly ask myself “What would happen if….I got this thing/desire into my life”?
Then I answer that question honestly, thinking about how it would affect the people around me as well as how it would affect me.
If you’re truthful enough, you may well find some interesting blockages or barriers that need to be overcome before you can get what you want.
If those barriers persist, then you will always be, at some level deep within, pushing the thing you desire away from you at the same time as you are attracting it.
Even those of us who flunked Science know that if you’re pushing something away at the same time as pulling it towards you, the net result will be ‘No Movement’ at all. Equilibrium.
Let me give you an example. When I first set up my Vision Board, to kick off my manifestation, I gathered pictures of fabulous houses that I wanted to live in. I spent a lot of time focusing on them.
It was only when I saw a photo of the same ‘designer’ house in a magazine and showed it to a friend and he said jokingly “so you want to move to America? Is your family going with you?”
Now up till that point, it hadn’t occurred to me that the house that I set my heart on was a very American looking house. The kind of house that you simply would not find in good old Britain.
I was (and still am) very contented with life in the country of my birth – Britain.
It dawned on me that at the same time as pulling my desire towards me, I was also (at a sub-conscious level) pushing it away from me. There was simply no way I would pick up and move to America as a father of a school age child. Nor did I have any wish to.
The Solution?….
(I made a New Year’s Resolution to keep my posts shorter than last year, so I’ll cover off the solution in my next post) ‘Why am I not getting what I want? Part 2′. Watch out for it.
